The Greatest Show on the Earth

Well for those who missed this grand show - which reminds me of the film "The Greatest Show on the Earth", I saw in my childhood, here is an eyewitness' account of those two unforgettable days that myself, my family and dozens of our course mates and their families enjoyed while in Abbottabad on 12-13 April 2008, just four days short of 31st passing out day anniversary of 55th PMA Long Course - indeed one of the best courses that ever passed out from PMA. No matter how much we appreciate, certainly it will not be able to possible to compliment the efforts of Ghazanfar and his entire staff and those great recruits who made us the happiest of all human beings while celebrating our reunion.

Javed Sultan's Chehlum

Signals Mess Rawalpindi was the venue of late Javed Sultan's chehlum on 24 March 08. The time given was 1630 hours and a handsome gathering attended the compassion including a number of course mates, other officers. After the Quran khawani, the Dua was also attended by the COAS beside other senior officers. Javed's father was also present. I took along my camera (which has since become my part whenever going to any place where course mates are ) to preserve the moment (two group photos taken are also displayed on main page of course website). Prominent among the course mates were Zaheer, Solehria, Farooq, Bajwa, Raja, Asif, AD, Munir, Shahid, The Lion King (Tariq Sher), Noor, Mehdi, Naeem, Iqbal Badar, Farooq Ahmed, Ikram, Shahid Ashraf, Jahangir, Farooq (the Poet), Janjua and Naseer. I am sorry if I missed someone.

May the departed soul be blessed and his family be blessed with strength to bear the irreparable loss. Ameen.
